US technology company Cisco today announced it has updated its product range, adding a number of connectivity options for data center designers.
The new products include the MDS 9718 Director 40G FCoE module for MDS 9700, Nexus 5672UP-16G, and Unified Computing System (UCS) 6300 Fabric Interconnect series.
Cisco said its new storage MDS 9718 Multilayer Director is the highest port density in the industry, and will be among the first to support the latest connectivity standard 32G. Cisco has doubled the product "The Beast" - as it increases up to 768 ports of 16G FC.
The switch 40G 5672UP Nexus G-176 features Ethernet, Fibre Channel (FC) and Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE), all from a single platform. It supports 24 ports of 8 / 16G FC, FCOS six-port 40G Ethernet and 24 ports 1/10.
The Unified Computing System (UCS) 6300 Fabric Interconnect series now come with two switches 40G. A tissue expander supports available.
